We collect information to provide better services to all our users. The data we collect includes:
- Account Information: When you use the app, we create an anonymous account tied to your device.
- Emergency Contact Data: We store the name and phone number of the emergency contacts you provide.
- Check-in Logs: We record the timestamps of your successful check-ins.
2. How We Use Information
Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:
- To maintain and improve the Just Check In - YoYo service.
- To trigger automated SMS or phone alerts to your emergency contacts if you fail to check in.
- To display your current safety status within the app.
3. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of Just Check In - YoYo except in the following cases:
- With your consent: When an alert is triggered, your status and (optionally) your last known location are shared with your designated contacts.
- For legal reasons: We will share information if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Data Retention
We retain your check-in data and contact information as long as your account is active. If you delete the app and sign out, your data may be retained for a short period in our secure backups before being permanently deleted.
5. Security
We work hard to protect Just Check In - YoYo and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of information we hold. We use Firebase's secure infrastructure and industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.
